Hi, I’m Juli. I’m originally from Nebraska and obtained my BA in Geology at Colorado College. I moved to Lawrence for my MS at KU and then worked in the oil industry for several years. I came back to Lawrence for my PhD in 2009.

My first love has always been animals. I grew up on an acreage with a dog, cats, chickens, dairy goats, and horses. I’ve worked at nature centers in Nebraska and Kansas, caring for many species of wildlife ambassadors, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, raptors, and mammals.

I live in Lawrence with my botanist husband, and our current menagerie includes six species of fish, two fence lizards, a 20-year-old ball python, and four rescue cats. I look forward to caring for your scaley/feathery/furry family members.
